Why Believe the Bible?

As I write this, I’m taking a class that deals with specifically this subject. I could go on in detail about the miracle that is the preservation of the manuscripts from generation to generation; we have manuscripts proven to date from 1000ad that line up almost perfectly with manuscripts from 150bc. The odds of that happening with any hand-copied document are mind-numbing. I could also talk about how those same texts, copied 150 years before Jesus and written 700 years before Jesus, foretold His suffering in impossibly vivid detail.

Honestly, though, nothing of what I say will do anything for you unless you read it with an open mind. You’ll find ways to explain away everything I say if you’ve decided the Bible can’t possibly be true. The best evidence that the Bible is true is often found when you read it with the idea that it might just be true. I hope and pray that you’ll give it a shot and have the eyes of your heart opened.

This subject isn’t a very fun one to write about. That’s why there’s not much here. If you have a specific question, though, feel free to ask me.
