What do you take video with?

I primarily shoot video with my Canon EOS Rebel T2i. It takes stunning 1080p video and is made even more useful by some hacks called Magic Lantern, and a 3rd party Picture Style preset called Extraflat. Virtually all of my footage is post-processed in either Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro. I highly recommend the RebelCC script for After Effects; it makes color correction a lot easier.

There are advantages and disadvantages to using a dSLR like the Canon T2i for taking video. Stu Maschwitz has done a great job of documenting some of the disadvantages like aliasing and rolling shutter (which he suggests a fix for here). The advantage, of course, is the high quality video you get for a very low cost. Since I’m a college student, it makes sense that a low cost solution would be attractive to me. You can find some recommendations from Stu Maschwitz on what to buy here or check out my personal list of lenses.
