My New Phone
I took this video shortly after I got my new phone, but YouTube decided it wanted to be mean. Anyway, this video perfectly explains one of my favorite features on my new phone.
You know you’re jealous. -
Good headphones
I don’t like to advertise too much, but I was just listening to some Shane and Shane, and I thought “everyone should have good headphones for music”.
I own two sets of headphones. One’s big, scary, and amazing-sounding (I use them at home). The other pair is small and cheap, but still sound really good.
You should [...] -
Another Wallpaper
I know I haven’t posted in a while. It turns out that this post is just old content. I made this wallpaper about two years ago (or so says the metadata). The textures were mostly made using GIMP or something I found on a stock website too long ago to remember. It was modeled in [...]

Something I just realized…

I keep my phone on vibrate 90% of the time. The idea is to keep it from making an obnoxious noise everytime someone calls me (which rarely happens anyway).
The trouble is, though, that whenever my phone vibrates I find myself making an obnoxious noise anyway. Maybe I should just record myself exclaiming “YaWoohoo!” and use [...] -
No Shave November
You probably weren’t going to do this because you’re a bum, or rather you don’t fancy looking like a bum. Not wanting to look like a bum for a cause this cool makes you a bum in my book, anyway, though. It’s okay, though, I’m not going to publish my book.
Anyway, I’m hoping this nifty [...] -
This would annoy anyone, right?

I hate it when my paper curls up in a corner. It’s distracting, and I have to hold my hand funny to hold it down. Someone tell me I’m not OCD….

Andrew Kramer is cool, but…
Can’t we have some originality? Youtube is filled with people copying his tutorials. It would be good if people could learn to apply his techniques in different and unique ways.
Granted, I’m no better… but I’m gonna try. -
Writing things down…

I’ve decided to start writing more. I don’t mean typing; I mean physically writing things. I’m doing it with Bible study at the moment. It’s helpful because I type so fast I’ll write 500 words in less than 10 minutes. Writing leads to thinking a bit more, since I write so much slower than I [...]

It’s the simple things…

I just thought I’d write a quick post about one of my favorite and most used tools. Pens and pencils are round; their roundness tends to lead to them falling off desks. Cups are round, but they stand up. They’re also hollow and can thus hold pens and pencils. They also hold screws, adapters, and [...]

“follow Me”

I took this with a Sony A100 the other day. It took me a while to find a phrase from Jesus that is on one line and surrounded by black text I have another one I might upload soon if it turns out well.
The image is very heavily post processed (my Bible doesn’t really look [...] -
New Wallpaper
I made this a week or two ago using a photo from NASA (taken by Hubble). It’s kind of funny how they’re proclaiming the glory of God while thinking that they’re advancing man kind. Feel free to use it for anything you’d like.

Some special effects…
It’s time for another DiviDenD Project post. They’ll slow down soon; don’t worry. This is another video. It was done using After Effects, a green cloth, and a digital camera (the Canon Powershot A710IS). I’m still not happy with it. Given the awful lighting and problems I had keying it, it’s not too bad.

Great Power…
I don’t argue the point that “with great power comes great responsibility”. The first Spiderman movie basically proved that already. For me, though, I’ve found that with great power comes great indecision. Being able to do virtually anything tends to lead to me doing virtually nothing.
Anyone else have the same problem? -
New DiviDenD Intro Draft 2
Well, it’s been almost 24 hours since I blogged about DiviDenD. Here’s some more of my (rather pitiful) attempts at creating an introduction sequence. The walls are done with the normality plugin. I need to learn more about keyframing a camera. Any tips are welcome.

DiviDenD Site Now Live!
The DiviDenD Project website is now officially live! There’s not a lot of content up right now, but there’s a link to our youtube page (which actually does have a little content) and our Twitter page. You can also become a fan on Facebook.

Coming Soon
The DiviDenD project is a series of short films my friend and I are working on to be released in 2010. More info and a website will be posted soon. Contact me if you’re interested in helping.

Sony Includes Chrome
Sony has decided to start including Google Chrome on their Vaio computers now. This is great news because it means that IE is no longer the only browser that comes bundled with Windows PC’s. Hopefully other companies like Dell, Acer, Lenovo, and Asus will start including a 3rd party browser as well.

GIMP 2.7.0 – Finally!
It’s finally here! I’d given up and moved to Photoshop, but I always loved GIMP. I used Linux almost exclusively for quite some time which meant quite a lot of GIMPing. Now that I’m on Windows I generally use Photoshop, but I’ve given 2.7.0 GIMP a shot. There aren’t a lot of noticeable differences right [...]

Lenovo + Android = Yay!
So, I like my Lenovo Thinkpad X61, it’s got a great warranty, good build quality, and that little red eraser thing in the middle of the keyboard. I also like Android, Google’s new OS for phones. I like it because it’s open source, built off of Linux, and free (the OS, not the phones). So [...]

The Shack – Hilarious
So I was originally not going to bother posting about this until I read about their new brilliant marketing idea. Of course, by “brilliant” I mean “hilariously stupid”. Radio shack has recently decided to change their name to “The Shack”. Now, that’s pretty dumb all on it’s own. People have suggested it’s because “radio” suggests [...]

Synergy
Synergy is an open source project that allows you to control multiple computers with the same keyboard and mouse. It’s really handy. Sorry for the bad camera work. I took it with my A80 before I sent it in for repair.

Cool Video – I want to try
So my friend Justin showed me this. We to eventually try making something like it (although we won’t even be able to approach the awesomeness level). It’s a homemade lightsaber video. It’s almost as good as Star Wars but without the bad plot/acting/jokes.

Gmail (and more) Out Of Beta!
I never thought this day would come. Google has taken Gmail, calendar, documents, and talk out of beta. I’m not really sure what that means. I guess it means they’re finally stable? They were pretty stable to me. Anyway, I always thought it was odd that Gmail had ‘beta’ next to it when it’s been [...]

Classic Start Menu for Windows 7
I have a few friends who don’t like the idea of upgrading to Windows 7 (which is currently still in testing) because of it’s new interface. Windows 7 has done away with the old start menu from the 95 era, and replaced it with the one found in Vista.
Users who would like to use the [...] -
iPhone 3GS Even Hotter Now
I told you I’d stop doing Microsoft posts soon enough. On to Apple!
iPhone 3GS owners have been reporting that their iPhones have been overheating. White iPhone owners are even reporting that the heat is affecting the color of their phone. It seems kind of odd that a product would make it out the door with [...]
