Anxiety
I’m writing this post for two reasons. The first is that something has just been bugging me and I wanted to explain it. The second is that I’m hoping it might help someone else.

Excellence – Part 3
I’ve been really busy over the last three days and haven’t had any time to continue this series. Actually, I just got back from sitting in on some classes at PBU and I’ve written down ideas for something like four posts I’m planning on writing soon. I mention this just in case you thought I [...]

Excellence – Part 2
I split this into multiple posts because I don’t really like writing long posts. This way I can be a little bit more verbose, and not feel like I’m making people bored.
In my last post I talked about why I have a problem with how most people view excellence in ministry. I’d like to refine [...] -
Excellence – Part 1
My dad has this thing about excellence in churches. My church has a tendency to throw things together last minute with very little planning. We do this at least in some ways out of necessity, because we’re a small church and it’s hard to get enough people together for a given ministry.
Anyway, the thrown-togetherness of [...] -
Something Wonderful
So I saw this thing on Twitter about designing something everyday. I’d link to it, but this post is really completely unrelated. Basically, though, it was a challenge to design something new everyday. If you’ve ever tried to design things you probably know that this can be more difficult than it sounds.
Anyway, I was also [...] -
A Really Big Rock

Asking the question: “Can God make a rock so big that He cannot lift it?” does not make God’s existence or the possibility thereof impossible. It simply underlines the impossibility of our understanding Him.
An infinite and divine Being cannot be bound by the reasoning of the creatures He sustains. -
Resolutions (some follow-through)

I’m posting this because I thought it might be helpful to people. I posted earlier about how I was doing this and I suggested others do the same. Edwards wrote funny ’cause he lived a long(ish) time ago and was a genius. I thought it might be helpful to see a list from a modern-average-joe, [...]

The question I probably shouldn’t ask…
but I will anyway. If you agree with the popular evangelical thought that God’s given man free will and would be unloving to take it away… Why do we ask for Him to change people’s hearts and save them? Wouldn’t that be unloving?
For the record, I think it is good to plead with God to [...] -
Resolutions…

Jonathan Edwards—at the age of about 19—wrote a list of “resolutions”. I’d suggest reading them. I’m going to try writing my own. I may even post them; we’ll see. I suggest writing your own…

Mount up with wings like eagles…
Isaiah 40:31
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
For me, the trouble with mounting up with wings like eagles is that I’m afraid of heights. -
Second chances…
If you need a second chance, you by definition do not deserve it. That doesn’t mean you won’t get it.
Romans 2:4 -
The real problem…
Romans 3:10-11 (ESV)
10: as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”

Some whattheblindsee stuff
So I’ve been working on some stuff for whattheblindsee, I had the theme almost entirely coded, but then my server crashed. I might be able to get it back, but we’ll see. If I do you’ll see the new theme up soon.
I’ve also been working on some business cards. Well, they’re not really business cards, [...] -
They Bear Witness About Me
I got so caught up in coding these last few days I almost forgot to write the whattheblindsee.com post for today (yeah, that’s pretty bad). Anyway, here’s the link.

Scripture Reference Shortener
For those of you who don’t know there are a lot of URL shortening services out there (tinyurl, bit.ly, and more). What these services do is take a long address like http://www.longishwebsitename.org/long/web/page/name and shorten it to something like http://bit.ly/IFN4T Why? Well, because long addresses don’t fit on twitter, and tend to look ugly even if [...]
